Oil Painting Again . . .

I've started trying to get back on track with my painting again; I did a quick one a while ago that was horrid, and it made me lose all motivation (easy to do when you've got a massive backlog of other cool stuff to get started on!). But I finally made myself pick up the brushes and try and get back into it. Here are a couple of pics, both done from photo reference.
This first one is just a warmup/practice done over a couple of days:

This one is a still unfinished attempt to get more realistic colours going on rather than the monotone approach I'd been doing previously. I'll post up the finished version when it's done.

Some of my large framed pics have found a temporary home at the aptly titled "This Is So Wrong!" exhibition at the Resistance Gallery in Bethnal Green. If you're a Londoner head on over, there is tons of stuff by other great artists as well!

Candy speedpaint

A speedpaint from the largely forgotten 1968 film Candy. Given that it stars the stunning Ewa Aulin I'm not entirely sure how I ended up sketching Walter Matthau, but rest assured I'll rectify this shocking ommision at some point in the future!

I did another little interview on the excellent carmenicadiaz.net (sort of NSFWish).
I'll try and make sure I get some more art up here soon as well rather than just loads of posts about info!
